Zeroes add up to $50,000 in lottery gold for Brampton ticket scratcher

For Parameswaran Rajadurai of Brampton, seeing so many zeroes was a dream come true.

The self-employed worker said he has been buying scratch lottery cards for a number of years, but on this recent occasion, he got a surpirse.

“I checked my ticket using the OLG app and there were more zeros than I was expecting,” he said. “I had to scan it a few more times before I realized I’d won $50,000. It was hard to believe.”

He was playing Instant $50K Casino a scratch game where you have to match numbers. He won the grand prize.

When he went to his local convenience store to confirm his winnings, Rajadurai said he couldn’t wait to share the good news with his family.

“I first shared the news with my wife. When I went to the store to have my ticket validated, she was waiting in the car. I ran outside and asked her to come in so we could experience the moment together,” he said. “She couldn’t believe it and was so happy.”

Rajadurai said he had no immediate plans for his new-found cash inflow but plans to share it with his family.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Major MacKenzie Drive West in Vaughan.
