Lovella Wuersch of Brampton says she has been a regular lottery player for 14 years so it came as a bit of surprise when she found out she finally was a winner.
“I’ve been a regular lottery player since I arrived in Canada,” shared Lovella while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “That’s kind of long time so when it happened I was surprised.”
Her $100,000 prize came through the Instant Crossword Tripler (game #2273).
Wuersch , who works in the food industry, says she was relaxing after dinner one evening playing her ticket when she discovered her win. “When I noticed I had six words I thought, ‘Wow, is this real?'” she said. “I was crying tears of joy! My husband didn’t believe it.”
She plans to save her winnings and put some aside to visit her mom in the Philippines.
“I feel so blessed. I work so hard, and it would take me so long to save this much money. I’m very happy,” she said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Oceans Fresh Food Market on Main St. in Brampton.
