World-class golfers coming for RBC Canadian Open at newly-renovated course in Caledon

Caledon is cementing itself as the home of golf in Canada as a local course has been selected for the 2025 National Men’s Open Golf Championship.

Golf Canada and the PGA announced this week that TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon would be home to the tournament at the recently renovated 7,445-yard North Course, making it the 38th golf course in the event’s 121-year history.

Caledon Mayor Annette Groves called the announcement an “exhilarating milestone” for the town, “solidifying our status as the premier destination for Canadian golf.”

“Hosting the 2025 RBC Canadian Open allows us to showcase our Town as a vibrant hub for recreation and tourism, benefiting our residents, businesses and visitors,” Groves said in a statement.

The North Course will play to its new championship par of 70 for the 2025 RBC Canadian Open with holes eight and thirteen converted to par-4s, while the 18th hole is a 585-yard par-5 which saw a new tee deck, a signature tree and short grass runoff area in front of the green as part of the renovations.

Other new upgrades and amenities include a publicly accessible 54-hole facility with a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse overlooking the 18th hole.

Selecting Caledon for the tournament follows Golf Canada’s relocation of its corporate headquarters to Caledon’s TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in July 2022.

This year’s RBC Canadian Open runs from May 28 to June 2 at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ancaster.
