Police have released images of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a Mississauga shooting earlier this week that sent a woman to hospital with critical injuries.

On Tuesday, Peel Regional Police responded to the intersection of Mississauga Road and North Sheridan Way, near the Queen Elizabeth Way, around 4 a.m. after a woman in a vehicle had reportedly been shot in the head. Police did not confirm the nature of the woman’s injuries, saying only that she sustained gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim remains in hospital and have not provided further information on her condition.

Investigators believe the shooting happened near Mississauga Road and Highriver Court, just a two-minute or so drive from where the victim’s vehicle had stopped near the QEW.

The shooter’s vehicle is described as a grey 2016-2020 Honda Civic with sports trim, dark wheels, a sunroof and a burnt-out passenger-side fog light. It may also have minor damage to the front bumper and was last seen fleeing the area.
