Woman holding child in Brampton struck in parking lot

Police in Brampton say a woman who was holding a child was injured by a driver in a parking lot on Monday (Oct. 25).
At 5:12 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 25), Peel Regional Police received a call about a collision in the vicinity of Main Street North and Bovaird Drive East. The woman received minor injuries that required medical attention from paramedics, while the child was unhurt.
The Peel police stated that the driver “attempted to render assistance.” Their initial indication was that the driver might have left the scene, and the PRP said they would be in contact with the driver.

Leaving the scene of a collision is an offence under both the Criminal Code of Canada and the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (HTA). However, the seriousness of the incident often determines whether federal charges are pursued.
