Charges have been laid after police say a woman was forced into the sex trade for over a year by a man from Brampton.
Peel Regional Police say the charges stem from an investigation into the alleged human trafficking of a woman in the region.
Investigators say the accused had control over the victim’s life and that she was “exploited in the sex trade for over a year.”
Police say the man “profited financially” from the sex work.

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, police say.
