Woman, child abducted in Niagara Falls truck theft, arrest made

A man is facing several charges in connection with a theft of an SUV with a mother and child still inside the vehicle earlier this year in Niagara Falls.

With assistance from Six Nations Police, Niagara Regional Police arrested Jason White, 38, on Sunday (July 21). White is facing numerous charges including.

  • Robbery
  • Kidnapping (2 Counts)
  • Assault
  • Utter threats
  • Dangerous driving
  • Drive disqualified

White was taken to Central holding and was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday (July 22) at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

At around 11:30 p.m. on January 14, 2024, police were called to an abduction/theft at the Embassy Suites located at 6700 Fallsview Boulevard.

An adult male had got out of his Dodge Durango SUV to check into the hotel when a man jumped into the truck and drove away.

At the time, an adult female and a young child were in the vehicle. The man would stop in the hotel parking lot and forced the woman and child out of vehicle before fleeing the area once again.

No physical injuries were reported.

Less than an hour later at around 12:20am, the stolen vehicle, with damage, was located in Burlington in the area of Baldwin Street and Hager Avenue. The male had fled the area by stealing another vehicle nearby.
