As the cold weather and winter season start to creep in, you may feel less of an urge to get outside… However, this event will be sure to light up your night and bring you some warmth.
The City of Brampton will be hosting its Winter Lights Festival presented by Fieldgate Developments from Friday, November 18 to Saturday, November 19 in Downtown Brampton.
The Victorian-style architecture of Brampton’s downtown core will get you feeling festive, as much of it will be decorated and shining bright. And there will be fun to be had for everyone, with a variety of events taking place throughout both days.
Events that you can look forward to include:
The Tree Lighting Ceremony: On Friday, November 18, the official tree lighting ceremony presented by Alectra Utilities will take place at 6:45 p.m. in Ken Whillans Square. Experience over 10,000 lights brighten up Downtown Brampton through its signature 60 ft. spruce tree. Experience stage performances by local artists and a Christmas Market with retail and food vendors in Gage Park – making this a great opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping while supporting Brampton’s local small businesses.
The event will also feature Winter Lights displays, a petting zoo, and pony rides inside Gage Park.
Miracle on Main Street: In partnership with the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s Miracle on Main Street, the event will take place on Friday, November 18 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will feature amusement rides, fun giveaways, and activities for the whole family. Bring a new unwrapped toy in support of local Brampton organizations and families experiencing poverty.
Winter Artist Market: On Saturday, November 19, visit the historic Alderlea, a 19th century estate located at 40 Elizabeth St S. Shop unique holiday gifts from over twenty local artists and artisan vendors at the Winter Artist Market, while enjoying live music from DJ Roshanie, presented by the Brampton Arts Organization.
The Santa Claus Parade: Returning in-person this year on Saturday, November 19 at 5 p.m. with a NEW parade route. The new route will be starting at Bramalea Road and Central Park Drive, and end at North Park Drive and Jordan Blvd.
Mark your calendars and take a stroll through Downtown Brampton with the Winter Lights Festival happening on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19.
The Winter Lights Festival is presented by Fieldgate Development and made possible through the sponsorships of Bell, Coke Canada Bottling, Meridian Credit Union, TD and Tim Hortons. For more information about the Winter Lights Festival, and a full list of events, visit the website here.
