The most wonderful time of the year is here meaning holiday decorations are out, and you can see some stunning displays with the help of the Holiday Lights Map in Caledon.

Back for another year, the Holiday Lights Map is “ultimate guide to Caledon during the festive season” with residents and businesses getting in the festive spirit.

The interactive online map lets you showcase their festive outdoor décor for a chance to win prizes and awards.

“Caledon is such a beautiful community all year-round, and what better way to celebrate the holiday season than by sharing the amazing light displays from properties around town,” said Mayor Annette Groves, encouraging residents to get involved and for visitors to come see the spectacle.

Residents will need to register for a Have Your Say Caledon account, submit a photo of your holiday lights and drop a pin on the map to let others in the community know where to come see your display.

Entries on the Holiday Lights Map must be submitted by Dec. 31 and the contest winners will be contacted by email in January.

The town has also set up holiday light displays across all the villages and hamlets in the region including a 40-foot Christmas tree in Caledon Village, holiday lights at the John Clarkson Park Skate loop in Southfields Village, iridescent reindeer and a festive gazebo in Palgrave.

“This is a great initiative for residents and businesses to show pride in our community, encouraging visits to our parks, neighbourhoods and downtowns,” said Jason Schildroth, manager of recreation and culture.
