Toronto’s High Park may get most of the attention during cherry blossom season in Ontario but there are plenty of blooms in Brampton for you to take in.

The blossoms at Joyce Archdekin Park should be in full bloom this week, and the park offers one of the less crowded spots across the GTA to take in the white and pink blooms.

Located along Main St. South between Harold St. and Elgin Dr., Joyce Archdekin Park doesn’t have as many of the blooming sakura trees as High Park does, but there are usually less blossom watchers to compete with.

Those looking for an even more secluded cherry blossom viewing experience can take a trip to neighbouring Mississauga’s Kariya Park.

Named after Mississauga’s sister city in Japan, Kariya Park offers a quiet escape to a Japanese garden and a small complement of cherry blossoms.

Still looknig for more blossoms but don’t want to make the trek to Toronto? Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park offers a floral pathway full of cherry blossoms and plenty of sights to take in along the waterfront with views of Lake Ontario.

Cherry blossom season usually hits its peak between late April to mid-May, depending on the weather conditions.
