Even though the outlook calls for warmer temperatures for the next week, when it snows in Brampton you must be prepared to get your vehicle out of the way and let clean-up crews do their job.
Here are some of the rules that go into effect when it snows:
When it starts to snow, on-street parking is prohibited
- Move all vehicles off the road so plows can do their job. Crews will proactively inspect, ticket, and tow illegally parked vehicles. The vehicle’s owner will be charged fines and impound fees.
Clear all snow and ice from sidewalks
- After a snowfall, shovel your sidewalk by 11 a.m. the following morning
Track the snow-clearing process
- You can see where the snow plows are by going to Brampton Plow Tracker online and in the 311 app
Snow clearing service is prioritized based on roadway classification
- All roads will be cleared within 24 hours. During heavier snowstorms, roads will be cleared within 48 hours.
Have a snow-clearing issue?
- Please wait 24 hours after the snowfall ends to report it
