A new federal holiday commemorating the death of Queen Elizabeth II has sparked some confusion around what the day means for residents and businesses in Brampton.

Next Monday (Sept. 19) will be a national holiday and day of mourning for federal workers in Ontario and across Canada as Queen Elizabeth II is buried in England.

While only federal workers will get the day off on Sept. 19, Ontario has opted for a Day of Mourning in lieu of a provincial holiday. That means some Brampton city services will be impacted by the new holiday.
