What’s open and closed Easter weekend in Oakville, Burlington, Milton

Easter is early in 2024 in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills, with Good Friday falling on March 29 and Easter Sunday on March 31.
Almost everything that is closed Friday is closed Sunday. Many municipal offices and services will be closed Monday. Call ahead before you make plans.
Without further ado, here’s what will be open and closed this year on Easter weekend in Halton Region.
What’s open and closed: Good Friday and Easter Sunday
Open:
- Local parks and certain outdoor recreational amenities
- Most Shoppers Drug Marts, but call ahead to be sure
- Most restaurants will be open for dining, takeout and delivery, but make sure to call ahead
- Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
- Some Starbucks (hours may vary at different locations)
- Some Tim Hortons locations (hours may vary, so call ahead to be sure)
- Conservation Halton Parks: Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Kelso, Mount Nemo, Mountsberg, Rattlesnake Point
- Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills
- Toronto Premium Outlets (Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Eaton Centre
Closed:
- Mapleview Centre
- Burlington Centre
- Oakville Place
- Milton Mall
- Most major grocery stores
- LCBOs
- Beer Stores
- Community centres/arenas/pools
- Oakville Museum
- Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton
- Municipal buildings including Town halls in Milton, Burlington, Oakville and Halton Hills, as well as Halton Region offices
- Banks
- Libraries
- Halton Court Services
- All schools
- Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery)
- Halton Waste Management Site
- Garbage pickup. If your collection day is Friday, your garbage will be picked up Saturday, March 30

Transit:
- Oakville Transit will run on a holiday schedule on Friday (regular weekday service resumes Monday)
- Burlington Transit will run on a holiday schedule and the downtown Transit Terminal and Specialized (Handi-Van) Dispatch will be closed on Friday. Regular service will resume on Saturday. For real-time schedule information, visit www.burlingtontransit.ca.
- Milton Transit will not operate on Friday
- GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on Friday

- Transit services will run as usual, but check ahead
- No change to waste collection scheduled for Monday, April 1
