WestJet flight delays, cancellations ongoing at Pearson Airport in Mississauga

A system-wide outage at WestJet Airlines that caused hundreds of flight delays and cancellations over the weekend at Pearson Airport in Mississauga and other airports across the country is still causing some issues today (Nov. 7).
While the outage that impacted the Calgary-based carrier’s entire network itself has been resolved, further disruptions are still expected, officials say.
And that could impact additional flights here and there. Some 31 more flights were cancelled today (Nov. 7).
WestJet tweeted this morning (Nov. 7) that all its systems were online and stable, and that teams were busy working to recover from the outage.
The airline said yesterday the outage prevented its contact centre from accessing guest reservations.
No reason for the outage was provided.
Despite being back online, the airline says it anticipates further disruptions as it recovers from the outage.
It is also apologizing to customers for the inconvenience.
