A special weather statement is in effect for much of southern Ontario ahead of trick-or-treating Thursday evening.
Environment Canada is warning of gusty winds near 70 km/h.
The weather agency said an area of strong winds will affect the region from the afternoon late into the evening.
“Areas near the shorelines near the Great Lakes may see wind gusts near 80 km/h,” the statement said.
Winds are expected to diminish through Friday morning.
“Impacts could include broken tree limbs and local power outages,” the agency said.
Showers are also possible, posing more of a threat to trick-or-treating plans this Halloween.
