Weather advisory in effect for many areas in southern Ontario

There is a winter weather travel advisory in effect for Tuesday, Jan. 23.

There will be locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of five to 10 centimetres, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.

Snow is forecast to begin early Tuesday morning.

The winter weather travel advisory is in effect in:
Mississauga
Brampton
Caledon
Oakville
Milton
Burlington
Halton Hills
Hamilton
Niagara Region

The snow, at times heavy, will continue through the day before tapering to periods of light snow Tuesday evening. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
