People in southern Ontario may wake up to a blanket of fresh snow tomorrow morning.

Environment Canada is forecasting snow early Thursday (Dec. 7).

A good chunk of southern #ONwx remains on track to receive a shot of 2-4 cm early tomorrow morning, coinciding with the morning commute,” Environment Canada wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Drivers should be prepared for delays, particularly on Highways 401 and 400.

“Give yourself extra time to reach your destination,” the weather forecaster wrote.

The snow is expected to start tonight and continue through to the morning.

The snow will end in the morning and then there will be a mix of sun and cloud. But the snow might not be done — there is still a 30 per cent chance of flurries late in the morning. There is also a risk of freezing drizzle.

The temperature is expected to hit a high of 5 C tomorrow in much of southern Ontario so the snow will likely melt.

It will be a bit warmer on Friday — a high of 6 C is expected. And Saturday, the temperature could reach 8 C.

Then, on Sunday, there is a strong wind storm expected with lower temperatures and possible flurries.

Winter is here.
