Brampton Welland shoot Glock handgun warrant
Niyo Tyrese Hill, 25, is considered armed and dangerous, according to Peel Regional Police.

Police say a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Brampton hotel is still on the run and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest.

The shooting took place on Jan. 24 of 2024 at a hotel on Nexus Avenue. Police say a woman had “a violent interaction” with a man during a robbery and she was shot. The shooter took off before police arrived on the scene and investigators say the woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the suspect has been identified as a 25-year-old Welland man who is wanted for several offences including robbery with a firearm and assault with a weapon.

Police say Niyo Tyrese Hill, 25, is wanted for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery with a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of probation, and two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order.

Hill is considered armed and dangerous and Peel police say not to approach the man if he is spotted in the community.

Subsequently, as part of the investigation, police raided a home in Welland earlier this month where a loaded illegal Glock 20 handgun was seized. Also seized was a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and large amounts of currency.
