A video shows a woman driving a taxi that had been reported stolen through downtown Toronto.

The taxi was reported stolen from the Bay Street and Lake Shore Boulevard area on Saturday, Sept 7 at 12:44 a.m., Toronto Police said.

The owner of the taxi told police he parked the car with the keys still in the ignition, and left the vehicle unlocked to throw out garbage.

Police said when the taxi driver turned around, he saw his vehicle was going southbound on Bay Street.

He then called police.

Police have since recovered the vehicle and dashcam footage. They seek the public’s assistance in identifying a woman captured on the dashcam footage.
