A vehicle crashed into the new Farm Boy store in Mississauga.
The crash happened in the Lakeshore Road and Wesley Avenue area just after 12 p.m. on Thursday, a Peel Regional Police spokesperson told INsauga.com.
The Farm Boy just opened in the Brightwater development this summer.
Police said the vehicle hit a building and drove off. The investigation is ongoing.
“We do not have any information on what type of vehicle or if the driver sustained any injuries,” police said.
There were no other people involved.
A video sent to INsauga.com captures a black car turning left, seemingly to enter the parking lot, but instead, it turns sharply and hits the building. The vehicle then reverses and proceeds to the parking lot before disappearing from view.
A photo shows damage to the front of the store.
The entrance is designed for right turns off Lakeshore only. Several people commented on the entrance access in a post in the Port Credit Friends Facebook Group.
“I don’t like how narrow that entry/exit point to farm boy is. I can see how it can be confusing if someone is new to this area and is not paying attention,” one person wrote.
Others suggested there should be a left turn allowed into the business as people will try and take shortcuts.
Attempts to reach a Farm Boy for comment were not immediately returned.
