A pickup truck crashed into a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Mississauga.
The truck smashed through the restaurant in Rockwood Mall at 4141 Dixie Rd. Monday evening, according to multiple reports on social media.
Photos and video from the scene show a Dodge Ram truck partially through the building, smashing a large window at the front of the restaurant.
Peel Regional Police later told INsauga.com that officers responded to the call at approximately 7:45 p.m.
The driver fled the scene and pickup truck had been reported stolen from outside the region earlier that day, police added.
Although the restaurant was open, there were no physical injuries reported, police said.
Fire crews responded around 8:30 p.m. to check the building’s integrity, a Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson told INsauga.com.
A city building inspector will need to assess the structural damage further, the Mississauga Fire spokesperson said.
A Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson told INsauga.com they are currently assessing the damage and won’t be open Tuesday.
In an update on Wednesday, the restaurant said they are now open and normal operations were reinstated Tuesday evening.
Anyone with any information on the incident should contact police at 905-453-2121 ext 1200.
