Peel Regional Police are once again pleading with members of the public to help them solve the murder of a university student who was gunned down nearly three years ago outside a Mississauga bar.
For the second time in less than two months, investigators have taken to social media, again offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the July 8, 2019 murder of York University student Jackline Gore.
Gore, 24, from London, Ont., was an unintended target when she was shot to death in the early morning hours while waiting for a ride home outside Fume Bar and Lounge, on Torbram Rd. in the city’s northeast end, near Pearson Airport.
Peel police investigators earlier today (April 8) re-posted a video (see below) made by Gore’s family that tells of the young woman’s life and dreams.
The Twitter post also provides details of the $25,000 reward in the case.
Gore, who wanted to be a clinical psychologist, was struck by a stray bullet while waiting in the bar’s parking lot, police said earlier.
A man approached a group of men who were a short distance away from Gore and opened fire, intending, police say, to target someone in the group.
Instead, the bullet struck Gore.
“Someone out there knows something,” Peel police tweeted Thursday. “Help us find the person(s) responsible for the murder of Jackline Gore, and be eligible for a reward if your information leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.”
Police have set up a designated tip line at 905-565-5727.
Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.
