A man was taken to a trauma centre after a shooting at an Ontario business last weekend, police say.
York Regional Police have released a video they say shows the incident, with multiple shots being fired from a vehicle.
Police said that on Saturday at around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a commercial plaza in the area of Hawkridge Avenue and Bullock Drive, near Markham Road and Highway 7, for a report of shots fired.
A man was found inside of a business suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital, police said.
He was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
“A dark grey sedan, believed to be a Honda Accord, stopped at the front of the premises and the driver was observed to have fired multiple rounds from within the vehicle,” police said.
“The vehicle fled the scene and was last seen driving westbound on Bullock Drive.”
Police said it’s believed the incident was targeted.
Officers are asking that anyone with video footage from the area around the time of the incident come forward.
