Hamilton Police have identified the suspect and released the name of the victim involved in a recent homicide that took place at home in Stoney Creek last night.
Police say shortly after 7:30 p.m., they responded to a home near the intersection of Trafalgar and Mud Street in Stoney Creek.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with severe injuries. He was taken to a hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Kuldip Singh —a resident of Stoney Creek.
Police have not disclosed the nature of the injuries that led to the man’s death.
The suspect, previously noted by witnesses as known to victim, has been identified as 22-year-old Sukhraj Cheema-Singh, who is the son of the victim. Officers have not confirmed if Cheema-Singh is a resident of Hamilton.
Authorities say Cheema-Singh is wanted for First Degree Murder, but remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators believe Cheema-Singh was in the area for approximately thirty minutes prior to the incident and fled immediately following the altercation with his father.
