A driver faces impaired charges after a vehicle slid into a front lawn last week in Caledon.
Emergency crews were called for a vehicle that had landed in a yard in Caledon on Dec. 4 shortly after 5 p.m., OPP said in a press release.
The incident happened in the community of Alton, an OPP spokesperson told INsauga.com.
Gordon Kalverda, 50, of Alton, was charged with operation while impaired, and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
Kalverda is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Dec. 19. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven.
OPP ask people to call 911, if they know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs.
People can also provide information anonymously with Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.peelcrimestoppers.ca. When you contact Crime Stoppers, you stay anonymous, and you never have to testify.
“In doing so, you may save a life,” OPP said.
