Romance can happen just about anywhere as long as it’s with that special person in your life, but for the one day of the year dedicated to love – take her somewhere special.
Here’s a list of the restaurants in Mississauga that offer something unique from their intimate setting, special menus, or extensive wine list for Valentines Day 2015:
Restaurant: Breakwater Restaurant is located in The Waterside Inn – a boutique hotel located in Port Credit. The airy and expansive dining room is a gorgeous space with high ceilings and majestic decor that pays homage to classic fine dining. The restaurant boasts a few awards and over 470 wine selections from around the world.
Cost: $75 per person
Restaurant: Glen Erin Inn & Spa is a historic estate located in south Mississauga overlooking Sawmill Valley. The historic stone mansion honours the property’s elegance and charm.

Restaurant: Cagney’s Restaurant located in Streetsville, underwent major renovations just over a year ago and now boasts a gorgeous floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar that holds 500 bottles and features an elegant dining room.

Cost: Entrees are from $17 to $58
Restaurant: Mondello Ristorante is a cozy Italian restaurant that opened its doors in 2008 in the heart of Streetsville.

Restaurant: &Company Resto Bar is located in the heart of Mississauga’s City Centre which overlooks the downtown core and sits in front of the aesthetically stunning Marilyn Monroe Absolute condos. At night, it transitions into an exhilarating nightlife.

Restaurant: Ten Restaurant and Wine Bar is one of Port Credit’s hotspots offering a 3-course seasonal and locally sourced tasting menu, live music at 7:30 pm and a DJ at 10:30 pm.
Cost: $49.98 per person
Restaurant: Piatto Bistro is a well-established, upscale gem located in south Erin Mills, that’s been loyally serving diners since 1989.
Menu: The Valentine’s dinner menu (not posted online) choice of courses will include: lobster bisque, portobello mushroom stuffed with goat cheese and honey, kale salad, mushroom ravioli, arctic char, venison sirloin, glazed lamb shank, Mahi-mahi and cassata – a traditional Italian dessert also known as Napolitan ice cream.
Cost: $48 per person
Restaurant: Michael’s Back Door is a long-standing restaurant that’s at the back of a building in Clarkson Village off Lakeshore Rd. and it’s as if you’re walking into a secret location because it’s completely hidden from public view.
Cost: $44.95 to $84.95 per person
Restaurant: Culinaria Restaurant offers a beautifully elegant and unique setting for dining in the historic Elliot House located on Kennedy Rd. just north of Matheson Blvd.
Cost: Entrees are from $25 to $48
Restaurant: The Open Cork Restaurant & Lounge menu offers a “Cal-Ital” inspired cuisine including dry aged beef, seafood and pasta and is located on Dundas St. just east of Dixie Rd.

Restaurant: Port 229 Artisan Bistro offers authentic, homemade dishes made with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients in an intimate and cozy space in Port Credit.
Menu: The Valentine’s dinner menu choice of courses will include: Caprese or Maryland crab cake, braised short ribs, black cod, heart-shaped pasta, and crème brulee, double chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.
Cost: $57.69 per person
Restaurant: Casalinga Ristorante is a cozy Italian restaurant that offers from scratch dishes, hidden in an unassuming plaza in the southwest corner of Mississauga on Royal Windsor and Southdown Rd.
Menu: Although there isn’t a website or Valentine’s dinner specific menu, rest assured their dinner menu offers something for everyone including hand-made gnocchi, pasta, risotto and veal dishes.
Cost: Entrees are from $16 to $26
Restaurant: Rogues is located in Sherwood Forrest Village has been serving patrons northern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine since 1985. The open concept kitchen is a welcoming portion of the traditional fine dining setting.

Cost: Entrees are from $15.95 to $39.95
Restaurant: Chelsea Restaurant is set in a small 1867 heritage house hidden from walking traffic in Port Credit.
Menu: Although there isn’t a website or Valentine’s dinner specific menu, you will find a selection of comfort food and classics.
Cost: $10 to $25
Restaurant: Colossus Greek Taverna offers authentic flavours in a rustic and charming space located in Port Credit.
Menu: Although there isn’t a Valentine’s specific menu, you can enjoy their dinner menu
Cost: Entrees are from $15.95 to $27.95
These restaurants are already fully booked for Valentine’s dinner, however seating is still available for their regular dinner menu on Friday: Tu Casa Fine Dining, Terrace on the Green, La Castile.
