Winter weather is on the way and it could impact travellers out of Pearson Airport ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving weekend.

U.S. Thanksgiving weekend is a popular time for travel but active weather could delay plans.

The Federal Aviation Administration is showing active weather could lead to issues in the U.S. today, including Newark and Denver, Pearson Airport officials noted in a post on X.

A significant snowstorm in Colorado could bring one to three feet of snow on Wednesday, U.S. news outlets are reporting.

Heavy rain is forecast in Newark on Thursday. There could be up to 20 mm of rain, according to the Weather Network.

Travellers heading across Canada may see some wintery weather in Winnipeg, Halifax and Quebec City, Pearson said. There is snow forecast in the GTA this week but won’t likely lead to delays.

Travellers looking to go further afield will find flight delays and cancellations for Seoul, South Korea.

The heaviest snowstorm Seoul has experienced in November in 52 years brought 20 to 26 centimetres of snow, according to news reports.

A WestJet flight expected to arrive at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday morning from Seoul was cancelled, Pearson’s arrivals board shows.
