U.S. Coast Guard responds to Ontario boat crash that killed 2

Emergency crews, including the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to a boat crash in southwestern Ontario that left two people dead over the weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police said members of the OPP, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton and the United States Coast Guard responded to a report of a single-vessel collision at around 5:55 p.m. Saturday.

It happened on Pocket Bay in Walpole Island First Nation, which is northeast of Windsor, near the Canada-U.S. border.

Two people died at the scene, police said.

There is no word on what may have led to the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
