Update: Woman dead after stabbing at Mississauga Canadian Tire

The woman killed in a daytime stabbing in Mississauga was in the midst of shopping in a busy Canadian Tire, Peel Police have confirmed.
Police announced the death shortly before 7 p.m. Monday evening, about an hour after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a man and a woman injured.
The woman was pronounced dead on scene when police arrived to the Canadian Tire at the intersection of Mavis Rd and Britannia Rd. The man, also injured was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment.
Police held a press conference in the plaza later in the evening, confirming the earlier details. The woman was found suffering “obvious signs of trauma” and succumbed in the store. Yake said the man had sustained a minor injury.
During the press conference, Cst Phillip Yake, said he could not comment on any relationship between the man and the woman as the “investigation is still in its infancy.” He likewise could not comment on the nature of the injuries beyond that ” Peel police were called here for a stabbing.”
Yake additionally confirmed the Candian Tire was quite busy at the time with numerous customers fleeing the store. “We received a lot of calls on it so it was probably pretty busy,” Yake said.
As it is the Peel Police Homicide Bureau has take over the investigation. Police have deemed the attack an isolated incident and say there is no further threat to public safety.
