UPDATE: Driver dies after vehicle rolls into ditch on Highway 401 in Mississauga

UPDATE: The OPP say that the 23-year-old man from Brampton was driving a sedan southbound on Highway 410 when it rolled into a ditch near the westbound ramp to Highway 401.
“Multiple citizens assisted police to remove the driver from the vehicle and attempted life-saving measures,” police say.
The driver was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Highway 410 southbound near Highway 401 was closed for approximately three hours for investigations and has since reopened to motorists.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
A man is fighting for his life in hospital after his vehicle crashed and entered a ditch last night on Highway 401 in Mississauga.
The OPP said the collision happened shortly after 6 p.m. on the Highway 410 southbound off-ramp to Highway 401.
Police said it was a single-vehicle crash and resulted in the vehicle rolling over into a ditch.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, was the only person in the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition, police said.
Additional details about the driver, including his place of residence, have not been released by police.
The roadways were closed for several hours and reopened to motorists shortly before 9:30 p.m., last night.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
