UPDATE: 5 people sent to hospital following two-vehicle crash in Mississauga

UPDATE: Peel police have reopened the roadways to pedestrians and motorists.
Two drivers and three pedestrians were sent to the hospital after being involved in a collision this afternoon in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., at the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road East and Havenwood Drive.
All five people involved in the collision were transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure due to minor injuries.
The roadways moving eastbound on Burnhamthorpe and Bough Beeches Boulevard were also temporarily closed off for investigations.
Authorities have not indicated what caused the crash at this time.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes as police have not provided an estimate for when the traffic will reopen to the public.
