Snow is on the way in the GTA and southern Ontario Friday.
There are differing opinions on just how much snow will fall but forecaster Instant Weather predicts 10 to 20 centimetres in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and Burlington starting overnight and into Friday.
Instant Weather said there will be “lake-enhanced snowfall and localized snow squalls along the western shoreline of Lake Ontario.”
Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts two to four centimetres of snow overnight into Friday. An additional five centimetres could fall Friday morning, the forecaster said.
The Weather Network is also forecasting snow beginning late Thursday or early Friday and continuing through the day.
Other areas in the GTA including Toronto, Durham Region and Hamilton can expect less snow — around two centimetres on Friday.
Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga is getting ready for the snow.
“We’re preparing for snow starting late tonight and continuing into tomorrow,” the airport said on X. “Up to 7 cm possible at the airport. As always, our teams are ready to respond as soon as the first flakes begin to fall.”
With frigid temperatures over the weekend, it is possible the snow could hang around for a few days.
