Are you a proud nerd and an even prouder music lover?

If so, you might be happy to hear that a unique event that pairs both is coming to Mississauga this weekend.

“From the Imperial March to the Throne Room End Title, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will take to the stage in Hammerson Hall on Saturday, March 24 to perform the beloved music of Star Wars,” the MSO said in a recent news release.

If you want to enjoy an evening that combines the finer (and fun-er) things in life, you can hit the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga to listen to a more symphonic take on the beloved and world renowned franchise.

And while regular ticket prices start at $55, special pricing is available for seniors and patrons under 26.

The force, MSO says, is strong within Maestro Denis Mastromonaco and the 90-person Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. This evening has also become something of a tradition, as the MSO first performed the music of the iconic space opera to a sold out theatre back in 2016.

In fact, MSO says members of the orchestra dressed as Stormtroopers, Padawan and galactic princesses. The Maestro also made an appearance as a Jedi “before shedding his robes and lightsaber in the second half of the concert to reveal his inner bootlegging space scoundrel.”

Also, cosplay enthusiasts are encouraged to arrive dressed as their favourite character from the Star Wars galaxy for a chance to take a photo on stage, in costume, with the MSO. Costumed attendees can also win a number of Star Wars themed prizes.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Living Arts Centre box office at 905-306-6000 or clicking here.

Complimentary underground parking is included with every ticket purchase.

The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets for the concert are selling fast, so fans are advised to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment at the box office on concert night.
