Uniqlo opens massive new store in Mississauga

Major Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo is opening a brand new store in Mississauga’s Heartland Town Centre, and they’re celebrating the new opening with gift cards, exclusive limited edition items, live Taiko performance, and special offers.

The huge 11,000 sq. ft store opens at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6045 Mavis Rd, making this Uniqlo’s very first roadside store in Canada.

To celebrate their grand opening on Friday, they’ll be giving away $10 Uniqlo gift cards to the first 100 people at the store! Shoppers will also be able to enjoy traditional Japanese music with a live taiko drumming performance with Isshin Daiko, while sipping free coffee from Two Bears and enjoying cupcakes from Oven Theory.

That’s not all – for the entire grand opening weekend, shoppers can win free prizes by taking a chance at spinning the Japanese-inspired Garapon wheel. Customers who make a minimum purchase of $100 will also receive a limited-edition Uniqlo tote bag (before tax, while supplies last).

And be sure to look for their special edition “Heartland” series of UTMe! t-shirts and totes, made in partnership with local designers to highlight Mississauga’s unique community. The designs in this collection are inspired by Mississauga’s small town-esque community of Streetsville, as well as local bakery Oven Theory and their delectable confections.

Right now Uniqlo’s newest offering is their Fall/Winter Collection, designed to help you stay warm while still keeping your clothes sleek and easy to move around in. Shoppers can find their perfect sweater from Uniqlo’s wide variety of cuts, colors, and fabrics, including 100% Cashmere for ultimate warmth and comfort.

A huge selection of coats, jeans, sweatshirts, sweatpants, hoodies and t-shirts will also be available, as well as various accessories including hats and bags.

Some of their most iconic products and textiles include the 100% Cashmere Crew Neck, 100% Extra Fine Merino, the Quilted Round Shoulder Bag, and the Seamless Down Parka, among many others.

Everything in the Fall/Winter Collection is designed for comfortable movement, and incorporates a subtle but playful colour palette that ranges from rich, dark chocolate browns to lighter, smoother camels and khakis.

Additionally, for any pair of pants $20 or above (excluding athletic wear and sweatpants), Uniqlo provides free hemming services to ensure pant lengths fit the customers’ unique measurements. The store also offers complementary in-store pick-up for orders made from their online store, which offers a full variety of products, styles, colours, and even extended sizes that are not available in-store.

Their newest store at 6045 Mavis Rd is the second in Mississauga, alongside their existing popular location inside Square One.
