Truck goes off road; traffic snarled in Burlington

Traffic is snarled along a section of the QEW in Burlington after a tractor-trailer left the road.

The OPP says the incident happened this afternoon (June 19) along the QEW bound in the Fort Erie-bound lanes.

“The tractor-trailer left the road for unknown reasons and went into the ditch,” police say.

As a result, the right lane of the QEW in the Fort Erie-bound lane is closed just south of the Burlington Skyway.

As well, one northbound lane of Eastport Drive remains closed for cleanup.

Police say the driver was not injured and tow trucks are on the scene to assist in removing the truck from the ditch.
