Truck drops load of steel on Highway 407, causing traffic jam along Mississauga-Brampton border

Traffic on Highway 407 at Hurontario Street, along the border of Mississauga and Brampton, was backed up on Wednesday afternoon due to a truck spilling its load onto the highway.
OPP are investigating after a transport truck spilled its load of steel onto the westbound lanes of Highway 407 along the border of Mississauga and Brampton this afternoon.
Reports from the scene indicate the mishap occurred near Hurontario Street at about 12:30 p.m. Multiple cars reportedly hit the highway barrier as a result.
There’s no word yet on any injuries or what led to the incident, but traffic remained snarled in the area as the mess was cleaned up and police investigated.
The two right lanes of westbound Highway 407 were said to be blocked.
