A truck driving training school out of Brampton has been charged after one of their trucks was allegedly found with safety issues including inoperative breaks.
Peel Regional Police say officers were in the area of Airport Rd. and Derry Rd. East in Brampton on Tuesday (May 23) when they stopped a tractor-trailer for a safety inspection.
That’s when it was discovered the truck had inoperative breaks, broken suspension systems, and the driver had failed to do a daily inspection, police said.
A photo posted online shows a blue tractor-trailer with the words “student driver” on the back and “Blue Rock” on the side.
Police did not disclose the name of the school, but a spokesperson for Blue Rock Truck Training School confirmed that the company was charged following the incident. Blue Rock says the driver was taking the tractor-trailer to be serviced by a mechanic at the time when it was stopped.
The vehicle was taken out of service, and the driver and company were both charged. A Peel Regional Police spokesperson was unable to immediately provide a list of the charges.
