Ontario trucking licences 'loopholes' for non-Canadians brampton

Police have laid charges against a transport truck driver from Brampton following a rollover crash that closed a busy Ontario highway on the weekend.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. on Sunday when a transport truck driver “lost control” of a vehicle in Thames Centre, approximately 18 kilometres west of London, the OPP says.

Police say the driver was exiting onto Highway 401 when the truck rolled over and came to a stop blocking all three Westbound lanes of the highway.

The crash closed the 401 for several hours as crews worked to remove the vehicle from the road.

The OPP now says a 23-year-old Brampton resident has been charged with careless driving and fail to surrender insurance card.

The crash has police asking the public for any tips and investigators say anyone with information about this incident can contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
