The clean-up is expected to take several hours after a transport truck smashed into a concrete barrier and light standard near Pearson Airport.
The crash is one of several on a snowy Wednesday (Nov. 16) morning, said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
“We have problems across the region this morning,” Schmidt said.
The tractor trailer crash happened in the northbound lanes of Hwy. 427 north of Hwy. 401 before 6 a.m.
“Tractor trailer northbound from the 401 went into the concrete wall, took out massive chunks of concrete,” said Schmidt in a tweet around 7 a.m. The truck then struck a light standard and jack-knifed.
Schmidt added that there was an incredible amount of force required to cause the damage. The concrete was sitting on the shoulder of the highway.
No injuries were reported.
Two left lanes were closed for a clean-up.
