A main transit bus route in Mississauga is being impacted by a strike of some 1,200 city workers in Brampton.
City of Mississauga officials said on Thursday morning MiWay Route 103 Hurontario Express will be detoured in response to the strike by Canadian Union of Public Employees workers in Brampton. Transit workers in that city are among those involved in the labour dispute.
“Due to this labour disruption, bus access to the Brampton Gateway Terminal may be affected. As a result, MiWay’s Route 103 Hurontario Express will be on a detour until further notice,” MiWay officials said. “The route will go on detour after it passes Steeles Avenue and Hurontario Street in Brampton.”
From Steeles Avenue, transit officials continued, the bus will turn onto McMurchy Avenue, then onto Charolais Boulevard and onto Main Street to service a temporary bus stop near the terminal platform.
Route 103 Hurontario Express will service all other regular stops along its route, officials added.
Transit riders in Mississauga who might be impacted are urged to visit miway.ca or call 905-615-4636 for updated information.
