Trafficking investigation in Welland results in charges for New Brunswick man

Family and police concerned as vulnerable 71-year-old woman goes missing in St. Catharines

A 53-year-old New Brunswick man has been arrested in connection with a trafficking investigation in Welland.

The Niagara Regional Police Service Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation in April, 2024 into the trafficking of a woman in the Niagara Region and identified a male suspect.

Conrad Leduc, 53, of Bathurst, New Brunswick was arrested on Wednesday (July 17) and has been charged in Welland for the following offences:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Procuring
  • Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
  • Material Benefit from Sexual Services

Leduc has been held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday July 18th, 2024, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Police believe there could be further victims in the Province of Ontario and/or New Brunswick.
