Drugs, cash and a handgun have been seized in a Thunder Bay drug bust leading to charges for a teenager from Brampton.

Back in January, the OPP says investigators began investigating a supply of drugs coming into Thunder Bay from the Greater Toronto Area.

The OPP Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team led the investigation along with the Thunder Bay Police Service, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, leading to the search of a residence on Brock Street East in Thunder Bay on March 7.

During the raid police say they found some 200 grams of fentanyl, nearly 170 grams of crack cocaine, more than 100 grams of cocaine, a handgun and 15 rounds of ammunition, and more than $5,000 in Canadian currency.

Police say three arrests were made and over a dozen combined charges were laid, including against a 17-year-old from Brampton, a 37-year-old from Thunder Bay and a 29-year-old from Scarborough.

The OPP says a 17-year-old of Brampton has been charged with nine offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine, possession of proceeds in crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition.
