GO train service disruption mississauga oakville burlington

Service will be disrupted on the Lakeshore West GO line this weekend affecting passengers in Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga.

According to Metrolinx, the company that runs the service, rail service will be temporarily modified to accommodate critical track work on both Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8.

The ultimate goal is to bring faster, more frequent service across the network.

“We will be performing track work at Long Branch GO and maintenance along the Lakeshore West line to ensure the safe and reliable operations of our train services,” said a Metrolinx spokesperson.

“This work can only be done when service is modified.”

Train service between Union Station and West Harbour GO will operate on an hourly schedule and affect the Aldershot, Burlington, Appleby, Bronte, Oakville, Clarkson, Port Credit and Long Branch stations.

In addition, GO Bus route 12, 15 and 18 connections may be adjusted.

For those who normally connect from Lakeshore East service to continue travelling west, not all trains will continue past Union Station.

Regular service will resume on Monday, Sept. 8.
