A toy for babies has been recalled in Canada due to a choking hazard.
The toy is a 79 x 59 inch play mat with roads, hot air balloons and Ferris wheels, and truck graphic designs, according to the notice posted on Health Canada’s recall website.
It is sold on Amazon.ca under the name FLAGAV Baby Play Mat.
Frequent use of detergents containing alcohol and chemical ingredients can cause the coating to peel off in small parts which may pose a choking hazard for young children, the notice states.
People should immediately stop using the play mat and contact FLAGAV to obtain updated product instructions.
As of Dec. 12, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
The company reported that 1,295 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
The play mats have been sold exclusively on Amazon.ca since September 2024 under the Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN): B0BXCS15HT. The mats were made in China by the Shenzhen Qianmingxin Technology Co., Ltd.
