Toronto officer shot during midtown investigation, police say

TORONTO — Toronto police say an officer has been rushed to hospital after being shot in the city’s midtown area.

Police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. after officers stopped a vehicle while conducting an investigation in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area.

They say one person was arrested at the scene and another is still at large.

No other information has been released at this time.
