Classic donuts topped the list of most popular orders at Tim Hortons across Canada in 2024.
Tim Hortons just revealed some of Canada’s top orders of the year and retro donuts are among the favourites.
Back in 2023, Tims brought back two old favourites — the walnut crunch and cherry stick. These donuts had been off the menu for 10 years.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary, the fast food chain announced the dutchie, blueberry fritter, cinnamon sugar twist and walnut crunch would be back in stores for a limited time.
This week, Tims announced the top donuts of 2024. In most of the country, the walnut crunch narrowly edged out the dutchie as the most popular retro donut, Tim Hortons said in a press release.
In Atlantic Canada, however, customers bought almost three times as many walnut crunches compared to dutchies.
The top donut overall was the apple fritter, which held held on to the title of the top Tim Hortons donut for another year, after unseating the Boston cream as the top selling donut in Canada in 2023.
The Boston cream remains popular across the Maritimes coming in as the number one choice.
In Quebec, the honey cruller continued to be the most beloved Tims donut.
The honey cruller is “so iconic that they’re affectionately nicknamed the ‘tractor wheel’ by Tims fans in Quebec,” Tim Hortons said.
The chocolate glazed was the most popular Timbit across Canada.
The double double coffee remained the most popular coffee order among Tims guests, while the top cold beverage was the iced capp, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.
Tim Hortons charitable programs – including the Special Olympics Donut, Smile Cookie, Camp Day, Orange Sprinkle Donut, and Holiday Smile Cookie – and helped raise $44.1 million in of 2024.
The first Tim Hortons opened in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario.
