Time is running out to claim $70 million jackpot in Ontario

The clock is ticking to claim a $70 million jackpot from a ticket sold in Ontario.

The winning ticket will expire next week on Wednesday, June 28 unless the rightful ticket holder comes forward, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG) said in May.

As of June 23, the ticket was still unclaimed.

“Time is running out to claim a $70 million LOTTO MAX jackpot!” OLG said in a tweet.

The OLG has very detailed information about this winning ticket, they said.

“However, as the ticket was purchased at a lottery retailer, we don’t know the identity of the person or group that purchased the ticket,” the OLG said in a press release. “As occurs in all OLG prize claims, there is a review process to determine the rightful ownership of the ticket.”

It was purchased at an authorized lottery retailer in Scarborough. The winning numbers are 8, 19, 22, 41, 42, 46, 47 Bonus 10.

If the ticket remains unclaimed, it will set a new Canadian lottery record for the highest unclaimed amount, the OLG told news outlets.

Previous unclaimed amounts were $15 million in British Columbia in 2021 and $5 million in northern Ontario in 2013.

There are other unclaimed winnings listed on the OLG website including a $1 million Lotto Max ticket sold in Mississauga for the Oct. 14, 2022 draw. The winning numbers are 9 10 16 22 24 39 44.

There are also smaller amounts listed for tickets sold in Bowmanville, Oshawa, Brampton and rural Hamilton.

Unclaimed prize money from OLG tickets goes back into future jackpots.
