A huge butter tart festival returns to Mississauga this month.
Whether you like them plain, with pecans, raisins or something a bit more out there — butter tarts are a uniquely Canadian treat and cause for celebration.
The Butter Tarts and More Market returns this June bringing an array of tarts to the Lakeview Farmer’s Market at the Small Arms Inspection building at 1352 Lakeshore Rd. E.
The first event from Gotta Luv Butter Tarts at the Small Arms Inspection Building was in November.
This time, Gotta Luv Butter Tarts say they are bringing “thousands of butter tarts from renowned bakeries across Ontario.”
Bakeries will bring their newest butter tart flavours at the second annual festival, organizers note.
One vendor, The Sweet Oven Niagara, offers over twenty different flavours of butter tarts from the traditional plain, to chocolate chip, coconut, raisin walnut and their signature tart raspberry.
In addition to gooey sweet treats, there will be other baked goods, treats, and marketplace vendors.
The Butter Tarts and More Market will join the Sunday Lakeview Farmers’ Market Sunday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
