It looks like more rainy weather will appear throughout the week in southern Ontario with peaks of sunshine. However, the good news is that summer will still be felt, as temperatures are expected to stay above 20 C, while the cooler evenings will start to hint at fall.

As of today (August 11), it will be mainly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers throughout the day. Daytime highs will reach 21 C, while brisk winds will gust at 50 km/h before easing up late afternoon.

Environment Canada advises individuals to drink plenty of water throughout the day to reduce the risk of dehydration.

The UV index will be high at level 6, and Environment Canada advises taking precautions such as seeking shade, wearing protective clothing and hats, applying SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, avoiding tanning and using UV-protective sunglasses, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A thunderstorm could also develop by the afternoon.

The skies will stay cloudy as the evening approaches, bringing a 30 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures will slip to 11 C—making it the coolest night compared to the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday will feature similar weather: a mix of sunshine and mostly cloudy skies. There is a 30 per cent chance of additional rain by evening, though the skies are expected to clear later. Daytime temperatures are expected to climb to between 25 C and 27 C, dropping to a cooler 14 C or 15 C by the night.
