This week’s weather: Warm and rainy week ahead for southern Ontario

A warm and cloudy week with occasional rain is expected in southern Ontario. However, there will be some sunshine before the clouds roll in.
As of today (July 28), the forecast predicts a bright and sunny day. Temperatures will soar to 31 C —making it the hottest day compared to the week. The UV index will be very high at level 9.
Environment Canada advises protecting your skin when the UV index is three or higher, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m
However, it will feel significantly uncomfortable as the humidex is anticipated to reach 36.
Additionally, Health Canada says that if outdoors, individuals should seek shade, wear protective clothing and hats, apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, avoid tanning, use UV-protective sunglasses and stay hydrated throughout the day.
By the evening, the skies will stay clear until midnight, when they will become partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop to 20 C.
Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, with a 30 to 40 per cent chance of rain throughout the day and night. Daytime highs will reach 29 C, while temperatures will fall to 20 C in the evening.
Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day with some sunny breaks. There is a low 30 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures are anticipated to rise to 30 C, where they will remain for the greater part of the day. Cloudy periods will settle in closer to the evening while temperatures are expected to slip to 20 C for the third consecutive night.
Thursday (and the first day of August) will be predominantly cloudy, with temperatures reaching 30 C. The skies will remain cloudy throughout the evening while nighttime temperatures reach a low of 20 C.
Friday will be another cloudy day with a 60 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures will climb to 27 C. The evening skies will also remain cloudy, with a continued 60 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures are anticipated to fall to 19 C.
Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with a 40 per cent chance of rain. Daytime highs sit at 28 C. Overcast skies will set in by the evening as temperatures fall to 21 C.
The following week will bring another round of varied weather: mix of sun, clouds, and intermittent rain. Daytime highs will range between 26 C and 29 C, while nighttime lows will hover between 17 C and 20 C.
